Chilean Beetles
Chile’s singular configuration and its extreme variation in latitude provide a highly versatile environment where thousands of unique species can be found. Its biodiversity is expressed by multiple habitats throughout the country. Chile has been referred to as an “Ecological Island” due to its natural barriers: the Atacama Desert at the North, the Pacific Ocean in the West, the Andes Mountains in the East, and the sub-Antartic climate in the South.
